With $3.74 million in VC funding, Giga ML plans to expand its team and enhance its product, currently serving finance and healthcare enterprises.
🧑🍳 AI-Infused Cooking: Samsung Unveils Bespoke Fridge with Advanced Features
Samsung is set to unveil its 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+ featuring advanced AI capabilities at CES next year. The smart fridge includes an internal camera for identifying food items and a connected app that suggests recipes based on available ingredients. This model, building on the 2023 version, integrates with Samsung Health to offer tailored recipes according to dietary needs and preferences. It boasts a "Vision AI" to recognize meals from photos and suggest recipes. The fridge's AI can identify up to 33 items, with manual input available for others. This latest version represents a significant evolution from Samsung's first smart fridge in 2016, focusing more on AI features than Internet of Things integrations. Samsung also plans to release the 2024 Anyplace Induction Cooktop, complementing its AI kitchen appliances range.
🧠 Surface Pro 10 & Laptop 6: Microsoft's Leap into AI-Driven Computing
Microsoft's upcoming Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, as reported by Windows Central, will mark a significant advancement in their product line as the first 'AI PCs.' These devices will incorporate a next-generation neural processing unit (NPU) and offer both Intel and Arm-based options. The Arm-based models will utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chips, focusing on AI capabilities, performance, and battery life. The Intel models will feature 14th-gen chips. Notable enhancements include brighter, anti-glare HDR displays, rounded corners, and new port options. The Surface Pro 10 may introduce a Windows Copilot button, while the Surface Laptop 6 is rumored to have a larger display and a haptic touchpad. These models are expected to launch next year, with further design updates anticipated in 2025.
